About Us

Chloe's Pet Rescue (CPR) is a 501(3)(c) non profit organization that typically rescues our dogs & cats from local shelters as well as taking in strays.  CPR is an all-volunteer animal rescue organization that specializes in saving furbabies scheduled to be euthanized because shelters lack room and funding. These animals are wonderful and they are only put down because they have no owners to claim & adopt them in time. They are all waiting for that miraculous second chance in life that they so deserve.

Our animals stay in loving foster homes where they are socialized, loved and evaluated to determine the best type of environment for their personalities. All animals receive their appropriate vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Parvo and Bordetella), deworming, and heartworm testing and scheduled for a spay or neuter. All dogs in our care are on heartworm preventation. If a dog is tested positive for heartworms, we will take him through treatment or will recommend doing heartworm preventative for 7 months then retest. Not all dogs can handle the strong treatments, especially our very small Chihuahuas. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Foster Homes are ALWAYS desperately needed. Please consider filling out an application and put "FOSTER" as the dog interested in to become a foster parent. It is so rewarding to be able to say that you made a difference in that animals life and the lives of his new family!

We are a 501(c)(3) non profit RESCUE ORGANIZATION, therefore, please complete our online Adoption Application by clicking on the application page.   We require an adoption application, vet reference, and in some cases a home visit with the pet. If you have current pets, they must be spayed and/or neutered, current on their vaccinations, and on Heartworm preventative. ALL of our pets are spayed or neutered prior to being adopted, or their appointments have been scheduled. Our adoption fee varies. Our fees include spay or neuter, deworming, microchipping, all shots, FIV &/or heartworm testing, and treatment if needed.  If your current pet is not microchipped, please talk to a volunteer about allowing CPR to microchip your dog or cat for a small fee.

Meet Chloe

This girl rocks....and rolls!  She was rescued from a kill shelter in March 2015.  She was paralyzed by some sort of accident, we think.  She goes to Petsmart with us every weekend and acts as the CPR & Petsmart ambassador.  She rolls and greets everyone.  If you are standing there, she will sneak in between your legs and just wait for some loving.

On April 30, 2016 a horrible thing happened.  A pit bull tried to pick her up by her rear end.  Thankfully the wheelchair prevented any serious damage, just one puncture wound.  Well, that one puncture wound infected her entire body...tissue and blood supply.  She spent the week at our vet and then she was transferred to Dallas Animal Diagnostic Clinic.  She had 3 surgeries and 2 blood transfusions.  We have spent over $15,000 to save her and she is doing great! Chloe rolls to everyone brightening their day because that is what Chloe does best!

If you have not met Chloe, it is a must that you do so at Petsmart in Garland.
